Charlotte, N.C. – Charlotte 49ers men's soccer seniors midfielder Brandt Bronico and defender Matej Dekovic were drafted by the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer's SuperDraft. Bronico was taken with the third pick in the third round. Dekovic was taken with the fourth pick in the fourth round.
Bronico and Dekovic both participated in the MLS Combine last week in Los Angeles.
This year, Bronico and Dekovic played integral roles in helping the 49ers capture the Conference USA regular-season title and earn a national seed in the NCAA Tournament.
In 2016, Bronico was named second-team All-American by College Soccer News.
