Baseball Rallies for 4-2 Series-Opening Win vs. Rider

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball used a four-run bottom of the eighth inning to rally past Rider 4-2 in Friday's weekend opener at Hayes Stadium. and combined to keep the Broncs at bay while came up with the big seventh inning hit to start the comeback.

Charlotte (3-2) trailed 2-0 for the entire contest until that bottom of the eighth. started things off with a five-pitch walk before moving to second on a wild pitch. Two batters later, Netzer drew a one-out walk before loaded the bases with his single to left. Sherer followed by lining a 2-2 pitch into left to knot the contest up at two.
