CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte 49ers baseball team officially began the 2018 season with the first day of team practice on Friday afternoon. The Niners open up the first weekend of practice with a 10:30 a.m. start on Saturday and Sunday with scrimmages to follow about an hour later. All practices/scrimmages this weekend are free and open to the public.
Charlotte returns 16 players from last year's squad and have added 17 for the new season. The 49ers will look to returners Jackson Mims, Hunter Jones and Reece Hampton, along with a few newcomers like Dominick Cammarata and Tommy Bullock, to propel the offensive and defensive efforts.
