CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball dug themselves out of an early 4-0 deficit, took the lead midway through, but fell late in an 8-6 loss to Old Dominion on Friday night. The Monarchs tallied six of their eight runs with two outs including two of their three in the decisive sixth inning.

Old Dominion (28-17, 11-11 C-USA) opened up scoring with a pair of runs in each of the first two innings beginning with a two-out double by Connor Myers and run-scoring single to left by Jason McMurray on the next pitch. In the second, a leadoff home run by Turner Bishop started his four-hit night while a Zach Rutherford single later in the inning put the Monarchs up four.
