CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball will continue their road trip to power five opposition traveling to Georgia for a three-game weekend series with the SEC's Bulldogs. The 49ers road trip began on Wednesday afternoon with a 9-6 loss at #12 NC State.
Charlotte (3-1) nearly completed a five-run comeback late on Wednesday posting all six runs in the seventh before succumbing to a final Wolfpack rally. NC State took a 5-0 lead after six frames, all coming across with two outs, before the 49ers responded with six in the top of the seventh. Harris Yett started the action with a RBI single before Zack Smith's RBI double cut the deficit down to three.
