CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Southern Miss turned a 4-1 deficit after three into an eight-run lead after six completing the weekend sweep over Charlotte with a 16-6 victory on Sunday afternoon. The 49ers struggles continue having dropped their fourth-straight after a three-run first frame.
“We had a really good start to the day,” stated Head Coach Loren Hibbs. “But then we weren’t able to stop them. We weren’t able to stop them from scoring all weekend. They have a good offensive team and you have to give them credit. We had some positive things happen today, but we can’t continue to make it as easy as we make it for the other team to score.
