Awuruonye Leads the Heptathlon After Day One

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior heptathlete Amaka Awuruonye led the way for Charlotte with 3,225 points through the first four multi-events on Thursday, during the first day of competition of the 2019 Air Force Reserve Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center on the Campus of Charlotte.

WOMEN'S PERFORMANCES-

Amaka Awuruonye collected 3,225 points through the first four multi-events of the women's heptathlon on Thursday, leading all competitors heading into Friday's events. The junior finished with the top spot in both the high jump and 200m, while taking third overall in the 100m hurdles.
