IRVING, Texas - After a dominating weekend at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Ky., redshirt senior Paul Arredondo garnered Conference USA XC Male Athlete of the Week accolades for the third time in his career. He is the first 49er to win the award this season.
Arredondo posted a school record 8K time of 23:30.4 and helped the men's team to a second-place finish with 69 points just behind Ole Miss. The 49ers beat teams such as Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville, App State and conference-foe Marshall.
Arredondo also defeated Ole Miss senior Waleed Suliman, who finished in the top 20 last year at the NCAA XC Championships.
