IRVING, Texas – After a record-breaking performance from Amaya Hopkins at the Duke Twilight meet, Niners Track and Field earns its second consecutive American Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor.
Hopkins earned the honor after breaking a 12-year school record in the women's 400m Hurdles, racing a time of 57.78. With her time last weekend, Hopkins now ranks second amongst American Conference competitors in the event.
This is Charlotte's second consecutive Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor, and its third Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor this season. Joyasia Smith holds the other two.
