Future players aren't the only ones the Charlotte 49ers are trying to win over this spring. The athletic department is bringing the excitement National Signing Day generates to the alumni of the university.
The athletic department, partnering with the Young Alumni Association, hosted three "official visits" for alums to come get a sneak peek of the football team and their facilities. The celebrations culminate on April 9 with an official signing day event, allowing fans to purchase season tickets as well as mingle with the 49er coaches and staff.
The idea of a signing day for alumni of the university came from a brainstorm between Athletic Director Mike Hill and Andrew Baker, president of the Young Alumni Association.
