PALM DESERT, Calif. – Charlotte men's golf, ranked #50 by Golfstat, fired a nine-under 279 as a team to sit one back off the lead in second through round one of the Desert Intercollegiate. Ben Woodruff finds himself third after a five-under opening round.
IN THE INDIVIDUAL HUNT
Woodruff, third overall in the field, led the 49ers on day one with a five-under round of 67 that included an eagle three on the closing hole. Woodruff drained two birdies on the front and three more on the back shooting five-under 31 on the back. John Gough also put himself inside the top-10 after the opening round with a three-under 69.
