PHOENIX, ARIZ. – With the use of a four-run sixth inning and grabbing an insurance run the top of the seventh, the Charlotte 49ers softball team secured their first victory of the young 2019 campaign, defeating GCU 6-5 in game two at the GCU Softball Stadium on Thursday night, February 7, as part of the GCU Kickoff Tournament.
Trailing 3-1 going into the top of the sixth inning, Charlotte (1-1) presented nine batters to the plate and scored four in the inning, to claim the 5-3 lead. Spenser Gray beat out a single just in front of the plate to get things started.
