CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers (8-4) went an undefeated 4-0 this weekend in the First Pitch Classic at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium after sweeping the Western Carolina Catamounts with a 9-2 victory and beating the Longwood Lancers in the following game by a score of 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Charlotte collected 14 total hits on the day, with nine of those going for extra bases. The Niners hit five doubles, two triples and two home runs between both games, while the pitching staff had a great day in the circle. Charlotte's pitching staff only gave up five hits and three earned runs over 14 innings, while also adding 15 strikeouts on the day.
