49ers Rally Past Delaware on Education Day

Charlotte, N.C. – Behind a strong fourth quarter defensive effort and three double-figure scorers, the Charlotte 49ers (7-2) rallied from an 11-point third quarter deficit to defeat the Delaware Blue Hens (3-7), 61-57. The game was played in front of an energetic, enthusiastic crowd of 8,015, which is the second largest crowd in the 49ers women's basketball program's history. With the win, Charlotte has now posted nine straight wins on their annual Education Day game.

TURNING POINT
With five and half minutes left in the third quarter, Charlotte trailed Delaware, 40-29. Then, the 49ers went on a 10-1 run over the next three and a half minutes cutting Delaware's lead to 41-39, when Jade Phillips connected on a foul line jumper at the 1:56 mark.
