CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the third-straight season, the Charlotte 49ers will open up Conference USA play at home hosting FIU in a three-game league series this weekend. Friday’s first pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. Saturday’s middle game will begin at 2:00 p.m. while Sunday’s finale begins at 1:00 p.m. inside Hayes Stadium.
Charlotte (9-8) won their third-straight game in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night as Brett Netzer belted his first career home run in walk-off fashion sending the 49ers to a thrilling 7-6 victory over Wake Forest. The Niners erased a deficit twice on Wednesday after taking a 1-0 lead on Netzer’s RBI double in the bottom of the first.
