Charlotte was unable to bring home a win as they fell to Middle Tennessee Saturday 70-55 in Murfreesboro. The 49ers’ (11-13, 5-8 C-USA) Austin Ajukwa had a career-high 12 rebounds, however MTSU (22-4, 12-1 C-USA) won the battle of the boards 41-35.
Charlotte recorded 30 of their 55 points in the paint, thanks to the help of freshman Najee Garvin and sophomore Jon Davis who both chipped in 13 points. Middle Tennessee had three players in double figures, capped off by JaCorey Williams with 21.
The 49ers came out ready to play, scoring 12 of the first 16 points.
