CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore guard Jon Davis notched his seventh 20-point outburst of the season but the Charlotte 49ers fell to Rice, 89-70, in Halton Arena on Monday evening.
"Disappointing loss tonight, Rice came out and got off to a good start and really were in control of the game," Charlotte coach Mark Price said. "We worked in spots to try to get ourselves back in it. Other than are point guards, we struggled shooting the ball. We had to make it tough for them to score and this is a team we knew coming in could score the ball.
