Mount Pleasant, S.C.– Charlotte won two singles and two doubles matches but the 49ers (12-7) dropped a hard fought, 4-3, decision on the road at College of Charleston (16-7) in their final regular-season match.
“Losing a 4-3 match is never easy,” Charlotte coach Jesse Tarr said. “I am really proud of the guys. They left it all on the court and we gave ourselves an opportunity to beat a really tough Charleston team. Credit to Charleston, they were the better team today.”
Charlotte won two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.
