It’s the defense that propelled Charlotte to an iconic victory over Western Kentucky three weeks ago. It’s the defense that powered the 49ers to a win in 7-of-8 games over the past month. It’s the defense that secured Charlotte a double-bye in the C-USA tournament and it’s the defense that’ll decide how long the madness lives on for the 49ers in March.
“Cara did a great job of challenging our girls,” assistant coach Joanne Aluka-White said. “Our offense is well put together, we can score at will at times therefore it’s going to be our defense that wins games and next week going into Birmingham, our goal is to win a championship.
