CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Shooting a scorching 70-percent from three-point range on the day, the Charlotte 49ers (7-5, C-USA: 1-0) opened conference play with a convincing 101-76 victory over Conference USA-foe North Texas (6-7, C-USA: 0-1) on Saturday afternoon in Halton Arena.
Five players reached double-digit scoring for the 49ers, led by sophomore Andrien White's 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor. He hit all three of his attempts from beyond the arc to contribute to the Niners' offensive barrage from distance that ended at an impressive 14-of-20 clip as a team. In contrast, the Mean Green were held to just 3-of-19 (16%) shooting from three-point range in the contest.
