Charlotte 49ers men's cross-country standout Tom Nobles (Cary, N.C./Green Hope), a two-time all-Conference USA runner who was named all-Southeast Region this past season and will be competing at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 3000 meter steeplechase, has been elected President of the department's 2018-19 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Women's track and field's Sydney Blue (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) was elected Vice President.
Volleyball middle hitter Alex Boone (Green Mountain, N.C./Mountain Heritage) was named the SAAC's Conference USA representative.
In addition, eight student-athletes were elected SAAC officers as Operation Managers: women's track and field's Maci Bunting (Asheboro, N.
