CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In a Friday doubleheader between two top-20 teams, #19 Charlotte took the opener 5-4 while #20 Old Dominion held off a Niners comeback late to split the day with a 9-5 victory in the nightcap. The Niners scored three in the first inning of game one to get off to their fast start while the Monarchs returned the favor in game two.
"I was really proud of our team for how they opened what we knew was going to be a heavyweight fight these next two weeks," remarked Head Coach Robert Woodard on the game one win.
