Ten years ago today – April 26, 2011 – Cara Consuegra was introduced inside Halton Arena as the new head women’s basketball coach for the Charlotte 49ers. Since that time, the program has continued its ascent on the conference, national, and even international, stages.
The 49ers have consistently maintained the success she inherited and built a solid foundation for the future along the way. Numerous team and individual records have been broken and/or equaled, including her own of tying the school’s all-time coaching wins mark through her first decade on the sideline. One more victory and she will stand alone atop the leaderboard.
