CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Powered by a season-high .426 hitting percentage, the Charlotte 49ers extended their historic win streak to 10-straight after a 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-13) sweep of Hampton on Saturday night. Having already set a school-record for consecutive wins during the rally scoring era, the Niners now tie the side-out era record of 10 last set in 1981.
Charlotte (13-3) dominated the first set 25-7 posting a pair of Janell Sparks kills, two Sydney Rowan aces and a kill by Kaylyn Torain jumping out to a 10-1 lead. In a string of five-straight points scored by the Niners midway through, Sparks had four of those kills while Stoner had the other forcing the Pirates to call their second timeout.
