OXFORD, Miss. - Kyla Walton placed first in the women's 400-meter hurdles on Saturday to lead the Central Michigan track & field team at the Ole Miss Joe Walker Invitational.
Walton, a senior from Aurora, Ill., won in 1 minute, 1.03 seconds. The second-place finisher, Ann Arlos of Saint Louis, came in at 1:01.46.
Walton's victory was one of 20 top-eight finishes turned in by the Chippewas in the meet.
The CMU women got second-place finishes from its 4x100 relay team, from Gabriella Beauvais in the 400, from April Michaux in the heptathlon, and from Mikaela Grant in the 100 hurdles.
