MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Alexis Pelafas was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after etching her name in the Central Michigan women’s soccer record book.
Pelafas scored both goals in CMU’s 2-1 double-overtime victory over Ohio on Sunday, becoming the program’s all-time leader in single-season goals with 15.
Pelafas scored her 14th goal of the season in the 63rd minute, heading in a long cross from the far wing and give the Chippewas a 1-0 lead. The record-breaking goal came in the 105th minute and gave the Chippewas the victory.
