AMHERST, Mass. — The Central Michigan soccer team continued its early season dominance on Sunday, defeating UMass, 3-1, in a non-conference matchup to remain perfect on the season.

The Chippewas improved to 7-0-0, matching the 2006 team for the best start in program history. CMU opened the weekend road trip to New England with a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth on Friday.

“We had a really poised and mature performance (Sunday) from our team,” said CMU coach Peter McGahey, who won his 100th career game as a head coach on Friday.
