MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan goalkeeper Kristen Knutson was named the Mid-American Conference women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Knutson, a senior from Eagan, Minn., helped the Chippewas to a pair of victories over the weekend with 158 minutes of shutout soccer.
In 68 minutes in a 3-1 win over Youngstown State on Friday, Knutson made two saves as the Chippewas built a 3-0 lead. She made one save in a 2-0 blanking of Kansas State on Sunday. The Wildcats entered the match having scored six goals in their previous outing.
