W. Soccer. Chippewas Forge a Tie With MAC-East Leading Kent State

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — It was supposed to be a battle and it was.

The Central Michigan soccer team, playing without leading scorer Alexis Pelafas, grinded out a 1-1 tie with Kent State Friday night in Mid-American Conference matchup at the CMU Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium.

“In this league it’s always a grind and its always a fight,” CMU coach Peter McGahey said. “I thought it was an exceptionally high-level and well-played soccer game from both teams tonight.”

The Chippewas move to 12-1-2 overall with a 4-1-2 mark in the league.
