MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – First win, first Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Award.
Central Michigan freshman midfielder Jocelyne Lemay was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Chippewas to the first women’s lacrosse victory in school history, a 16-4 decision over Gardner-Webb on Sunday.
Lemay headlined the Chippewa defense, which limited the Bulldogs to just two goals in each half.
She tallied a game-high four caused turnovers, collected three ground balls and secured one draw. Lemay was also active on the offensive end, notching her first career hat trick, on four shots, including a 1-for-1 effort on free position attempts.
