MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — When a player becomes just the second individual in NCAA women’s basketball history to finish a game 16-16 on filed goal attempts, something is going right.
Tinara Moore, CMU’s 6-foot-3 sophomore forward, accomplished this feat Saturday in a 97-77 Mid-American Conference victory over Akron, matching a 28-year old record held by Kelly Mago of Missouri State.
Moore’s 35 points and 20 rebounds were both career highs and marked her fifth double-double in a seven-game stretch.
“I honestly didn’t even know it was a big deal or a record at the time,” said Moore, who was named MAC West Player of the Week on Monday.
