MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — A universal truth in collegiate basketball is that when the calendar turns to February, each game grows in significance and the margin for error shrinks.

That said, the Central Michigan women’s basketball team finds itself in a nice position with all of its aspirations within reach.

At the midway point in the Mid-American Conference schedule, the Chippewas are 13-7 overall with a 7-2 mark in league play, putting them atop the MAC West standings.

“We feel good about where we are right now,” CMU coach Sue Guevara said.
