MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Holding serve at home is crucial for a team with championship aspirations.
The Central Michigan women’s basketball team opens a stretch of three consecutive games at McGuirk Arena on Wednesday (7 p.m.) when it entertains Akron in a Mid-American Conference game.
The game is Sue Guevara’s 300th as CMU’s coach. It will be the Chippewas' first home game since an 82-51 win over Illinois on Dec. 19, a stretch of 16 days.
The Chippewas (9-4), who were picked as the overall, tournament and MAC West favorite in the preseason poll, opened league play on Saturday with a 91-78 victory at Kent State.
