MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The Central Michigan women’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak to five Saturday as it welcomes Illinois Chicago for a nonconference matchup at 1 p.m. at McGuirk Arena.
The Chippewas (5-2) are coming off of a 95-57 blowout victory over Loyola Chicago on Thursday afternoon. The CMU-UIC game is the opener of a Chippewa doubleheader. The CMU men are scheduled to play Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the nightcap at 4:30 p.m.
CMU coach Sue Guevara was encouraged by her team’s offensive outburst Thursday, but is expecting a much more defensively sound UIC team on Saturday and emphasized bench consistency as key factor.
