CLEVELAND - Talk about heartbreaking?
On Wednesday afternoon the top-seeded Central Michigan University women’s basketball team lost in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
The Chippewas turned it over seven times in the final 3:27 of regulation and as it follows lost to eighth-seeded Western Michigan by a final of 67-63.
The defeat essentially puts the kibosh down on the Chippewas’ hopes of playing in the NCAA Tournament, yet the Chippewas will likely play in a postseason tournament which will be announced this weekend.
