Tavita Thompson, who spent the past three seasons as a graduate assistant coach with Nebraska, joined the Central Michigan football staff last week as the tight ends coach.
"When we opened the search process, Tavita's name just kept coming up over and over again," CMU football coach John Bonamego said. "Those good references were coming from people we really rely on, people we know and trust.
"Once Tavita got on campus, he was as advertised and better. I'm excited to bring somebody in with his experience, and I'm eager to see how he works with our offense, the university and the Mount Pleasant community.
