Stuff of legend: Record-setting Marcus Keene performance ignites Central Michigan past Miami

Everything was coming up aces for Marcus Keene.

What’s new in that regard?

But the Central Michigan junior guard took it to an entirely different stratosphere Saturday afternoon at McGuirk Arena, pouring in an NCAA season-best 50 points to propel the Chippewas to a 101-92 victory over Miami.

Keene set the new McGuirk Arena record for points in what was a breathtaking second-half performance, scoring 39 of his points after halftime including a stretch where he put in 26 consecutive CMU points.

“To score 50 points in a college basketball game, that’s anybody’s dream,” Keene said.
