MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan softball team will open the 2018 season in early February at the Mercer Invitational in Macon, Ga., kicking off a 47-game schedule spread over three months.
The Mercer Invitational, during which the Chippewas are scheduled to play the host Bears, Morehead State and Appalachian State, begins on Feb. 9 and is the first of three season-opening tournaments in warmer climes.
CMU is also slated to play in the Liberty Softball Challenge in Lynchburg, Va., and the USF Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, Fla.
