And, a trip to the championship game.
The Central Michigan softball team defeated St. Bonaventure, 10-0, and Mercer, 8-0, Saturday in the Mercer Invitational. The Chippewas (2-2) will play Pittsburgh (4-0) Sunday at 2:15 p.m. in the title game.
CMU fell to the Panthers, 2-0, in their tournament opener on Friday, when they also lost to Mercer, 5-3. The Chippewas had just 10 hits in those two games, but rebounded to collect 23 hits - including four home runs - in their two Saturday wins.
