Softball. Snow Kidding: Chippewas Rally For 5-Inning Tie

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan softball team concluded its three-game Mid-American Conference series with Akron on Saturday with a 4-4 tie at Margo Jonker Stadium.

The game ended after five innings due to severe weather conditions. The Chippewas and Zips split a doubleheader on Friday. CMU is 14-17-1 overall, 1-4-1 MAC. Akron is 18-16-1, 2-3-1.

It marked the first time the Chippewas have played a tie game since 1998.

“It was a unique game,” CMU coach Margo Jonker said. “We’ve played in snow before, but I don’t think we’ve played in this much snow before.
