MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Katelyn Rentschler was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Softball Player of the Week.
Rentschler, a senior first baseman, led the Chippewas with a .636 batting average as they won two of three games at Northern Illinois in their final regular-season series.
Rentschler, who hails from Etiwanda, Calif., went 7-for-11 with five RBI. Her hit total included a double and a home run, her team-leading ninth of the season.
It marks the second time in Rentschler’s career that she earned the MAC West Player of the Week Award.
