CLEARWATER, Fla. – Hanna Warren pitched a six-hitter Sunday as the Central Michigan softball team defeated Winthrop, 3-1, as the Chippewas concluded their Spring Break trip.
CMU finished 7-5 on trip and is 11-12 on the season. The Chippewas are off until their home opener, March 22, against Valparaiso.
Kristen Goodall had two hits including a single that drove in the tying run in the fourth inning.
Maison Kalina’s sixth-inning RBI double put CMU in front, and she added a run-scoring single in the seventh.
Roster depth on a trip of this magnitude is important to success, CMU coach Margo Jonker said.
