After winning five of its last six games, the Chippewas traveled to Ann Arbor Wednesday to take on No. 2 University of Michigan, but couldn't knock off its second ranked opponent of the season.
The Chippewas fell 5-2.
CMU returns home Friday for a crucial three-game series against Eastern Michigan, who currently sits in eighth place in the Mid-American Conference, a spot ahead of CMU.
