Soccer beats Western Michigan 3-2 in rivalry game

Central Michigan soccer went on the road to Kalamazoo and topped their rival Western Michigan 3-2 in hostile territory.

With the win, the Chippewas improved to 6-9 overall with a 4-3 MAC record while the Broncos fall to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in the MAC.

How it Happened

Lexi Pelafas took a pass from Shannon Magnan and tallied the first goal of the match in the 27th minute. The strike ended her seven-game scoreless streak and increased her goal total on the season to seven.

The lead didn’t last long. Broncos forward Grace Labadie promptly tied the game 1-1 with a penalty kick goal in the 29th minute.
