MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Often, the wins are the last thing to come.

Molly Pelowski enters her third year in charge of the Central Michigan field hockey program having laid a foundation. Now, there is plenty to fuel Pelowski’s optimism as the Chippewas, who have won just three games in her first two seasons, look to turn the corner.

“There’s a sense of urgency coming specifically from our leadership group and our seniors,” said Pelowski, whose team opens the season at St. Francis (Pa.) on Friday and will play at Lock Haven on Sunday.
