It started with a phone call in the spring of 2011.
It was a Saturday afternoon when Central Michigan University women’s basketball coach Sue Guevara called me on my office phone and was yammering on a mile-a-minute about something or other.
My initial thought was, ‘oh no, what did I do wrong to irritate her to the point of calling me?’
I had irritated past CMU women’s basketball coaches to the point where they found me and cornered me to vent their spleen, thus my initial thought was ‘get ready, here it comes.’
But, it was anything but that.
