Police: Be aware of tailgating rules before football game

Students participate in tailgating on Sept. 17 before the Chippewas game against UNLV outside of Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Aside from the football game between Central Michigan and Western Michigan on Saturday, students and visitors participating in tailgating activities are advised to do so wisely.

CMU Police Department enforces the university’s tailgating policy to ensure a safe environment during all sporting events.

Alcoholic beverages are only permitted during football game tailgates. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed at any other sporting events without prior written approval from the athletic department. Drinking games or activities encouraging excessive alcohol consumption is also prohibited.
