KENT, Ohio – A milestone for Petoskey soccer, but a disappointing outcome.
Lexi Pelafas scored her program-record 27th career goal on Friday, but the celebration of the achievement was tempered by a 2-1 loss to Kent State in CMU’s Mid-American Conference opener at the Golden Flashes’ Dix Stadium.
Pelafas, a junior, surpassed Stephanie Martin, who scored 26 career goals from 2006-09.
“It’s definitely a significant record,” CMU coach Peter McGahey said. “It is certainly something to be celebrated and rewarded on any given day.
