MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan defensive end Joe Ostman has been named to the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.
Ostman, a senior from St. Ignace, earned All-Mid-American Conference Second Team honors in 2016 when he led the Chippewas and ranked second in the MAC and 34th nationally with nine sacks. He finished with 69 tackles including 41 solos and 13 1/3 tackles-for-loss. He also forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles.
Ostman is one of a record 108 players nationwide named to the Wuerffel list. The award is known as college football’s premier award for community service and is presented by the All Sports Association in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
