CLEVELAND – Central Michigan’s Katy Clements and Joe Ostman were honored with the Mid-American Conference Medal of Excellence Award during the Honors Dinner Ceremony on Wednesday at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel as part of the MAC Spring Meetings.
Clements, an All-American gymnast, and Ostman, a football standout, are two of 24 student-athletes – two from each institution – to be so honored by the league.
Clements was three times named a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete, Second Team All-MAC, and Academic All-MAC during her career. She won an NCAA Regional title on the balance beam in 2017 and in 2018 was the MAC champion on beam.
